I was surprised at how they got the facts basically correct. The style is obviously not academic but the information is not far off.

Southpart usually get the facts correct while at the time doing a great show. I love their style - first you laugh and then you start thinking. The style might not be academic, but I think they have a great way of getting the point across without the stupid people recognizing that a point was being made :-)

do all people who beleive in God have to be morons? can't some want to follow Jesus and not be religous and still think for them selves, and love philosophy?
Can I be a christian and stand against organized religion?

Tu s. tin, please explain how you would reconcile following Jesus with not being religous.

My father's a good christian. The type of person you could know for years without actually knowing he's religous. Goes to church, follows the teaching of the bible (his view of it anyway) but never forces it on anyone. He was accepting of my sisters sexual preference and made her partner feel genuinely welcome when we met her. I guess the point is it's the assholes who are the attention seekers.

tu s. tin asked some good questions. I have replied to them on the main blog.

David is correct to say that one can be religious without being nasty. I always say that god is a big Rorschach test. One merely projects onto one's deity a larger image of oneself. Nasty people tend to believe in nasty gods and nice people tend to invent nice gods.

Certainly, as David put it, assholes often seek attention. But there is a tendency in religion to help turn people into assholes. Remember a tendency does mean it is true 100% of the time.
