Ride 'em cowboy

A couple of days ago I mentioned how some group of wingnut fundies went after Wal-Mart for the crime of selling the DVD for Brokeback Mountain. Now one problem with fanatics is they never learn their lessons. They are terminally dumb.

When Islamists screamed about the cartoons of their so-called prophet they managed to spread the cartoons around the world. What would have been ignored in most places was reprinted the world over and even now the images are easily found on line. This is what I mean by terminally dumb. One is terminally dumb when acting in a manner that elicites the complete opposite of the goal you are attempting to achieve.

So the fundie nutters went out screaming about Brokeback Mountain again for being on DVD. The net result of the extra publicity: it sold 1.4 million copies the first day it was being offered. Interestingly when the DVD was released the film was still in theatres and still grossing in the top 20. Go back to the pre-release days and you will see the Jesus-addicts were claiming the film would be a total flop seen by no one. It has grossed over $170 million while costing $14 million to produce.

Very true, in here it has been released in the cinema's. Can't wait to go see it.

So yeah, the "jesus addicts" (lovely way of puttin it BTW), were completely wrong, like their arguments on this subject. The movie is no crime, nor a sin in any way.
Because these freaks get their logic from church, I find church a rather dangerous place to be. What if you do get brainwashed??? Guess I'd rather be in the theater, watching a good movie, than listening to sickening texts by some insane man, assuming God is with him.
I do once more find you barking at all christians, like I said before, not all "Jesus addicts" are the same loonies you tend to depict here. Makes me laugh though ;)

Derreck,

How do you reconcile your Christian belief with your homosexuality, when the Bible unequivocally states that your gayness is an "abomination"?

Einzige: In all fairness to Derrick he did not say he was a Christian. In all fairness to me the comments I made did not "bark at all christians" either. I think all Christians are wrong but not equally evil. Fundamentalists are the worst as they are most irrational. As for the Bible you will quickly see it basically says anything the reader wants it to say.

Einzige,

I am not a christian in the way you see it. I believe Jesus was the son of God, and that makes me a christian, doesn't it?
I have my own beliefs on God, and find homosexuality, not a sin, as long as it does not encourage one to lustfull acts, which occurs with straight people just the same.
The Bible is full of rubbish, UI believe the core story is true, and that the churches have had a lot of influence from their SINFULL lust for power and money.
I suggest you re-read the Bible, from a rational point of view. Sure the churches will have made answers for the big question bells raising at it (for example Genesis, which made me laugh).

Besides that, your fague Bible texts are just what I hate most of today's religions. You folks take one minor part of an ancient book, and turn it into the one and only Truth. I fart at you!

Sorry for that, Monthy Python fan. But this is all a matter opf Bible believing, I'm sure you are a big one on that, throwing such atrguments at me. BTW, are you homophobic?

The fact that it is an unnatural thin g to do, has a simple excuse, if there is ever need for one. We are smarter than nature, we can choose our partner to our own advanced liking. We don't just make love with the most fertile, strongest, masculine any more, we make love to whatever seems good to love, and good for you. Worthy of spending your life with.

I do believethat extremism flows from your perspective of the Bible (Sorry if I'm wrong), as I said, you take one mini bit of the Bible, and say it is the Truth. Now, I acn take all sorts of parts from the Bible, telling you to love one another, and which you can read in such a way, that you'll agree with me. Same as that many of the anti-gay communities work with their perspective of the Bible.

So the answer to your question is, I don't in the way you think. Sure the Bible may be read in such a way that you start being homophobic, but I don't take the Bible for the Word of God, I take it for history, and rubbish. That division, is to be made by yourself, do so.

Whate are ya? RACIST?! (Foamy's the Hatta')

BTW, is it just coincedence that a lot of your post are about homosexuality, or is there another influence?...

To get things straight, are YOU gay?

I'm not a Christian and don't believe in the god of Christianity, Judaism and Islam. But if I were one, I certainly wouldn't be concerned about what the entire Bible says--just what Jesus said. Otherwise, what's the point in identifying oneself as a "Christian"? If all of the laws of the Old and New Testaments are to be observed equallly, then one is a "Biblican" it would seem to me.

Jesus taught that he fulfills the Law of Moses (laws of the Old Testament) for all who believe in him as the Messiah and the Son of God.

He also taught in Matthew 19:12 that there are "eunuchs from birth"; "eunuchs who are made that way by other men," and "men who are eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven."

In Middle Eastern and some Asian languages, "eunuch" has more than one definition aside from a male with dysfunctional testes. It is also synonymous with "homosexual" and "celibate." It thus seems to me paraphrasingly that Jesus recognized that are "homosexuals by birth"; " "males who get castrated," and "men who are celibate as a spiritual discipline."

Homosexuality is not taboo in traditional Indigenous American cultures. We refer to them as "two spirit" people.

I have read the Bible from a rational point of view and found the entire thing, cover to cover, to be absolutely absurd.

Well good for you Einzige, so you're not the religionist fuck I thought you were, well you know, I get a bit hotheaded when people start talking about such private issues.
Thanks for your question though, was good to get my mind off things.

A two spirit man.
